Service 01 · Custom application development

Custom software development: code handed over, hosted in France.

Software written for the way you work, and owned by you. We design it in Strasbourg, host it on our servers in France and look after it afterwards, day and night.

01/Who it is forThree situations

Custom or off-the-shelf: the question is settled in the first conversation

When off-the-shelf software covers most of what you need, take it: we will tell you so in the first conversation, even if it costs us a project. Custom software is justified in three situations.

  1. 01

Off-the-shelf software does not fit. You spend your time working around it: exports, re-keying, fields used for something else. The way you work deserves better than a permanent compromise.

  2. 02

The licences cost more than the tool brings in. A subscription per user per month, every year, for ever. Custom development pays for itself, and after that it is yours.

  3. 03

An in-house tool is reaching the end of its life. An Access database, an Excel workbook that has become critical, an application nobody knows how to maintain any more. We take it over before it stops working along with the one person who understands it.

02/The deliveryCode, documentation, hosting

Web software, its code and its documentation

We develop in .NET and Next.js: your software opens in a browser, with nothing to install on computers, with roles and permissions per user and a log of every change. The code is yours, documented and tested, and it runs on servers in France that we administer ourselves.

How we go about it

The first conversation is free and the quote is written before we start. Screens are drawn before they are coded, then we move forward in small steps and show you the result each time. Your users test early and correct course early: no six months of silence before you see anything.

What you receive

  • The source code, handed over, documented and tested
  • The rights, assigned in full on payment for the service
  • A web application: nothing to install, accessible from anywhere, with role-based access
  • Data hosted in France, backed up every night
  • Maintenance by the team that wrote the code, if you wish

04/Frequently asked questionsFour questions

Before you sign

  • How much does custom software cost?

It is quoted per project. The price depends on the number of screens, the business rules and the tools to connect. Price ranges are published on the pricing page, and each quote details the scope line by line. Compare the cost over several years with your current licences: that is where the decision is made.

  • How long does development take?

The schedule is written into the quote and reviewed at every demonstration. We deliver in stages: the first features are being tested on your side well before the end of the project. Typical durations are given in the FAQ.

  • Who owns the source code?

You do, in full, on payment for the service: code, documentation and rights. You can develop the software further with us, in-house or with a third party. No technical lock is put in place to keep you: that would be the surest way never to be recommended.

  • Who handles maintenance afterwards?

We do, if you wish: monitoring, nightly backups, security patches and on-call support for incidents. The team that maintains it is the team that wrote the code, so nobody bills you for rediscovering it along the way. The details are on the managed services page.

Need software built?

Describe what you need in a few lines. We will tell you whether off-the-shelf software is enough and, if not, what would need to be built, with a rough price.
