Frequently asked questions

The questions you ask us before signing.

Thirteen straight answers, in the order the questions come in: the project, the data, the code, the end of the contract. If yours is not here, write to us.

01/The answersAs we give them on the phone

Our answers, as we give them on the phone

01What are your timelines on a project?

It all depends on the scope. To give you an idea: a brochure website takes weeks, a business application takes months. We give you a realistic timetable from the scoping stage, and we move forward in small steps, with regular demonstrations, so that you are never left in the dark. If a deadline is fixed, a trade fair or a regulatory obligation, we split the work differently and we tell you what has to wait.

02How does a quote work?

First, a free initial conversation to understand what you need. You then receive a written proposal with a detailed scope, a price and a timetable: you know what you are paying and what you are getting before you sign. To get a sense of the budget even before that conversation, the pricing page publishes price ranges by type of project, and what makes them vary.

03Where is the data hosted?

Production is in France: Strasbourg, Roubaix and Gravelines, three separate OVHcloud data centres, so that a local incident does not take everything down. Backups are encrypted at source: the original machine encrypts before sending, and the server that receives them only sees encrypted blocks. The primary copy is kept in a data centre in Germany, so within the European Union, and copied every night to a mirror located in France, outside the hosting provider. Our hosting provider is a French company, and we administer the servers ourselves. You receive a data processing agreement, the DPA in legal terms, with the list of our sub-processors. The details are on the hosting page and in our privacy policy.

04Who owns the code?

You do. The full transfer of rights takes place once the service has been paid in full. You get the source code and the documentation, with no forced dependency on us, and you remain free to develop the project elsewhere if one day you wish to. We hope you will stay; we do not force you to.

05What happens if we part ways?

You leave with what is yours: the source code and its documentation, an export of your data, and access to the services we were administering on your behalf (domain names, e-mail sending accounts, hosting). We prepare the handover with the provider taking over rather than leaving it to improvisation, and we tell you in advance what needs to be recreated on their side. No technical lock is put in place to keep you: that would be the best way never to be recommended.

06How do I get my data back?

On request, during the contract as well as at its end. We give you an export in open formats, readable without our tools: a copy of the database, tables that open in a spreadsheet (CSV), structured files any developer can read (JSON), plus the original files where there are any, with a description of what all of it contains. We do not use any proprietary format that would make your data unusable elsewhere.

07How does maintenance work, and what do you monitor?

Through a managed services contract, quoted according to how critical your application is: continuous monitoring, security patches and updates, encrypted backups every night and checked regularly, on-call support for critical incidents. Application maintenance, meaning fixes and small improvements as they come up, is part of it. We monitor continuously and we usually step in before you notice anything at all. The availability our probes actually measure is published on the managed services page, with its measurement window and its instrument; the price ranges are on the pricing page.

08Which technologies do you use?

On the server side, .NET (ASP.NET Core); for the screens, Next.js, React and TypeScript; for the data, PostgreSQL. Our servers run Debian and Proxmox, at OVHcloud, in France. We choose widely used, maintained technologies, never an exotic stack that would leave you stuck in three years' time. The full list is on the about page.

09Do you travel? Are you really in Alsace?

Yes. We work from Strasbourg, in Alsace, and we travel for the meetings that justify it. For the rest of France, we work remotely, with regular check-ins. You always have someone you can reach, Monday to Friday from 9 am to 6 pm, not a call centre.

10Do you build AI into your projects?

Yes, when it serves a purpose: an assistant that answers from your documents, a search that finds a piece of information, an automation that saves time. We integrate it with guardrails, a limited scope and capped costs, and before we start we tell you where the processing runs and what leaves your premises. If it adds nothing, we tell you that too.

11What guarantees do you offer?

Every fixed-price delivery is covered by a three-month warranty: confirmed, documented and reproducible defects are fixed at no extra cost. Beyond that, changes and routine maintenance go through the managed services contract. We document what we deliver, so that you know exactly what is covered; the details are in our general terms of sale.

12Can you take over an existing project?

Yes, it happens often. We start with an assessment of the code and the hosting: what exists, what is fragile, what costs money. You receive a readable report, then we move on to taking over maintenance or a gradual rebuild, without breaking everything at once.

13Do you work with town halls and local authorities?

Yes. What a local authority asks us for first, we deliver by design: a website hosted in France, on our servers; no tracking cookies or advertising tools, so no cookie banner; a written quote; a website that remains the property of the municipality, code and content included. For accessibility, we build according to the RGAA, the French accessibility standard (référentiel général d'amélioration de l'accessibilité), we measure with tools at every go-live and we write with you the accessibility statement that the law requires of public services; we do not claim a conformance level without an audit. The accessibility page of this site shows how we go about it.

Is one missing?

A question that is not on the list?

Ask it directly. We answer without jargon, and we also tell you what we do not do.
